I made the most of the of the summer, a trip to Silverstone to see my good pal Mark race his Lamborghini’s in the British GT Championship, and again to watch the British Grand Prix, in style, courtesy of his BRDC hospitality. What a day that was for sport – we left the GP and got home to watch the Wimbledon men’s final and the Cricket world cup. Continuing the car theme, I displayed my beautiful old Porsche at this year’s Salon Prive` in the outstanding setting that is Blenheim Palace. No prizes but this was an amazing event which I hope to return to next year.

I played golf with my mates on our annual pilgrimage to Marbella, had a wonderful family holiday on our beloved Greek Island, Paros, spent a week sailing in Cowes in hideous conditions, and explored the beautiful city of Dubrovnik over a long weekend with my wife, Sophie.

A good friend got married, my God daughter turned 21, and my eldest son Oliver graduated from Loughborough University. He even managed to get a job. In the gaming industry. How cool. My youngest, Charlie, managed to get the predicted grades he wanted to apply to university, and turned 18 in October. Both now officially men, and both well rounded decent human beings. Very proud Dad
